Position Overview

The Senior Tax Analyst position will be responsible for the preparation of all federal and state income tax workpapers needed to support tax compliance required by the IRS and state taxing authorities related to the company’s domestic activity. The Senior Tax Analyst must be knowledgeable of all statutory filing obligations, as well as internal deadlines and establish a work plan for timely completion of all returns. Additionally, the Senior Tax Analyst position will be responsible for assisting the tax team with quarterly and yearly income tax reporting as required by ASC 740.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of federal and state income tax compliance workpapers

  • Ensure compliance files are thoroughly and contemporaneously documented and maintained in IRS and State audit ready format

  • Assist in the preparation of all federal and state estimated tax payments and extensions

  • Assist in the preparation of all aspects of quarterly tax reporting in accordance with ASC 740

  • Monitor and Forecast monthly and annual cash taxes

  • Prepare quarterly account reconciliations of all income tax accounts

  • Assist in the design and implementation of process improvements, which will lead to acceleration of processes, while maintaining accuracy of calculations and strength of internal controls

  • Partner with team members as necessary to assist in the successful closure of federal and state income tax audits.

  • Maintain the compliance tax calendar, including all associated extensions and estimates

Job Requirements

To fulfill this role successfully, the candidate must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:

  • BA/BS Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline

  • MA/MS Master’s Degree in Accounting, Taxation or related field preferred

  • CPA Preferred

  • Minimum of two (2) years corporate or public accounting experience in the area of corporate income tax compliance (preferred experience includes U.S. Form 1120 and related forms preparation, as well as multistate U.S. Income and Franchise tax return preparation) and income tax provisions

  • Strong organization skills and attention to detail

  • Must possess proficient computer skills (i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint)

  • Must be proficient with corporate financial reporting tools (i.e. JD Edwards, Jedox, etc.)

  • Must be proficient in corporate tax software systems (i.e. OneSource, CorpTax, etc.)

  • Must possess an understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, specifically related to tax reporting (i.e. ASC 740, FIN 48, etc.)

  • Must possess an understanding of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code, and possess the ability to research, understand, and document tax technical positions utilizing available research software such as Bloomberg BNA

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization, both internally and externally

  • Ability to interface with all levels of the organization

  • Ability to work on multiple projects and meet deadlines

Incumbent is required to have:

  • Close visual acuity to perform detail-oriented activities at distances close to the eyes, as well as visual acuity to perform activities at or within arm’s reach with skill, control, and accuracy, such as preparing and analyzing data, viewing computer screen and expansive reading.

Incumbent will be subject to:

  • Inside working conditions: The change of building environment such as with or without air conditioning and heating.
