Responsibilities

Summary:

Frontdoor is creating its first customer facing mobile app in to the store, and building out an internal team to eliminate tech debt and add longevity to the code base. We are looking for passionate mobile engineers who have experience with delivering an iOS and Android product using React Native. We are obsessed with taking the hassle out of owning a home, so being able to think of the end user in mind as you develop new features or future roll outs will be key to the success of this role.

Our Software Engineers are product focused, giving them the opportunity to work on a product and understand the layers of the software stack. Work includes documentation, automated testing, debugging, working with algorithms and data structures, coding, design, system performance scaling, and problem solving for highly technical and complex software programs. Responsibilities also include providing independent execution of medium-sized projects impacting teams of 3-4 people, contributing to the development of new ideas and principles, and working on long-range programs and objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Implement brand new product requirements into functional and testable code written in React NativeTroubleshoot complex / legacy issues and improve app performanceAble to make technology selection using process of experimenting, proof-of-concept implementation, and comparison to other technologies

• Great support to a team of software engineers, while coaching and influencing the performance and progression of others on the team significantly and in some cases across teams

• Communicates status and plans in clear and concise way, able to think through risks and issue to find the best solution

• Write reusable, effective, as well as scalable code and create interchangeable modules

Qualifications

Required Skills:

• 5+ years mobile development experience

• Demonstrated experience creating mobile applications using mobile framework such as React Native and/or a native experience such as Swift or Kotlin

• Able to pick up existing React Native code base and start contributing on day one

• Expert understanding of computer science fundamentals such as data structures, design patterns, commonly used algorithms, and analysis of algorithms.

• Capable of debugging complex problems, analyzing logs in production systems, quickly understanding and developing upon existing code base

• Working understanding of networking, request/response and REST APIs

• Experience delivering apps on both Apple App store & Google Play store

Preferred Skills:

• Working knowledge of CI/CD for mobile development

• Experience devleoping using test automation frameworks

Other/State Specific

This role pays between $105,900.00 to $144,900.00, and your actual base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, responsibilities, experience, and location.
